Chocolatey, nutty and perfectly sweet, these protein-packed bites make a deliciously simple Halloween treat.
Ingredients
Serves 22
Walnuts
100 g
Rolled oats
100 g
Vanilla protein powder
3 tbsp
Cacao powder
2 tbsp
Medjool dates, stones removed
6
Tahini
2 tbsp
Maple syrup

A splash of water, as needed
A little melted chocolate, to decorate

(optional)
Method - Cook
- Place the walnuts and oats in a food processor and blitz until finely ground.
- Add the protein powder, cacao, dates, tahini and maple syrup. Blitz until the mixture starts to clump together.
- Add water a teaspoon at a time, pulsing between additions, until the mixture holds together when pressed.
- Roll into approximately 22 bite-sized balls, roughly the size of a small walnut.
- Place on a lined tray and chill for 30 minutes to firm up.
- Decorate with edible Halloween decorations, using a small dab of melted chocolate as glue. Allow the chocolate to set before serving.

Notes:
- If the dates are firm, soak in warm water for 10 minutes, then drain well before using.
- Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days, or freeze undecorated for up to 3 months.
- Nutrition is estimated using 30g protein powder, 10g cacao and 144g pitted dates. Figures will vary with your protein powder and date size.
