Ingredients
Serves 4
Self-raising flour
250 g, plus extra for dusting
Greek yoghurt
250 g
Mixed seeds (optional)
1 tbsp
Sea salt (optional)
1 pinch
Method - Prep
- Tip the self-raising flour, plus extra for dusting, into a large bowl with 1 pinch of sea salt.
- Add the Greek yoghurt and stir until a shaggy dough begins to form.
- Get your hands in and bring it together into a rough ball. It will look a little unruly at first, but that is exactly right.
- Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead gently for a minute or two until smooth.
- Return it to the bowl, cover with a clean tea towel, and leave to rest for 10 mins.
- Divide the dough into 4 equal pieces.
- Roll each into a smooth ball, then press a floured finger through the centre to create a hole.
- Stretch gently until the hole is roughly 5cm wide. Be generous with the opening.
- If using 1 tbs of mixed seeds (optional), lightly dampen the top of each bagel with a little water and press the seeds on firmly so they grip the dough rather than falling off.
Method - Cook
- Air fry the bagels: Arrange the bagels in your air fryer basket with plenty of space between them.
- Air fry at 160 °C for 25 minutes or until puffed, golden, and cooked all the way through.
- Transfer to a wire rack and leave to cool for at least 5 minutes before slicing.
- Serve with a quarter of an avocado to bump up the fibre.
