At myBMI, we primarily support weight loss using weekly injection treatments. While some providers may recommend different medications, our weight management specialists use their clinical experience to offer GLP-1 based treatments to patients who meet the criteria. These include GLP-1 and GIP weekly injections, as well as GLP-1 only options.

However, these treatments aren’t right for everyone. Every consultation is carefully reviewed by a licensed prescriber, and if a GLP-1 treatment isn’t suitable for you, it won’t be prescribed. Our priority is always your safety, and we’ll help guide you towards the option that’s right for you.

Our packages start from £119. This includes your consultation, your weight loss treatment if it’s prescribed, and medication to help manage common side effects like nausea or diarrhoea.

Each consultation covers 28 days of treatment. When your supply runs out, you’ll come back for a review so we can check how you’re getting on, talk through any concerns and help you decide what to do next.

The cost only increases if you’ve been on weekly injections for a while and move up to a higher dose plan, where an additional charge applies.

Delivery is free on single dose orders. Bundle orders have a delivery charge of £8.95.

Weekly injection treatments work by helping to regulate appetite and reduce hunger, which can make it easier to eat less and lose weight over time. Clinical studies on GLP-1 based treatments, including semaglutide and tirzepatide, show they can be a safe and effective option for people with a BMI over 30 when used as prescribed and alongside lifestyle changes.

Like any medication, results can vary from person to person, so there’s no guarantee it will work the same way for everyone. We usually recommend giving your treatment at least 12 weeks to see how your body responds. During this time, staying in contact with your prescriber is important so they can review your progress and make any adjustments needed to help you get the best results safely.

Alongside your treatment, you’ll have access to clear guides and expert advice that explain what to expect week by week and month by month throughout your journey.

As with most prescription treatments, weekly injections for weight loss can cause side effects in some people. These are usually mild and often settle within a few weeks as your body adjusts to the treatment.

The most commonly reported side effects affect the digestive system. This can include nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea or constipation.

If you experience side effects while using weekly injections through myBMI, our healthcare team is here to support you. We can provide additional treatments to help manage symptoms while your body adapts, based on what you’re experiencing and what’s most suitable for you. This may include anti sickness medication, heartburn relief or other supportive options to help you stay comfortable and on track.

Most people starting a weight loss treatment plan will increase their dose gradually over time. If you’re new to treatment, or restarting after a short break, you’ll usually begin on a lower starting dose. This allows your body to adjust and helps reduce the chance of side effects.

After 28 days, you’ll return for a follow up consultation. At this point, your prescriber may recommend increasing your dose, as these treatments are designed to be built up gradually. The exact dosing schedule will depend on the treatment you’re using and how your body responds.

From there, your prescriber will continue to monitor your progress and work with you to decide whether further dose increases are appropriate. While your prescriber always makes the final decision on your dosage and treatment, you’ll be able to share how you’re feeling and discuss your preferences at each consultation.

Weekly GLP-1 based weight loss injections are now available through the NHS for certain patients with type 2 diabetes or obesity. However, access is limited and subject to strict eligibility criteria. Patients must usually be referred through their GP and reach tier 3 of the NHS weight management pathway, which involves structured programmes and specialist input before medication is considered.

Reaching this stage can take a significant amount of time, and even then, treatment isn’t guaranteed. Eligibility often depends on factors such as BMI, existing health conditions and previous attempts at weight loss, meaning many people may not qualify or face long waiting periods.

Private providers operate under different criteria, allowing suitable patients to access treatment sooner. At myBMI, every consultation is reviewed by a licensed prescriber who assesses your individual circumstances, health history and goals. This means eligible patients can begin their weight loss journey without the lengthy delays often associated with NHS pathways, while still receiving safe, regulated and clinically supervised care.
